The Fun of booking.com

Image
Oh the fun of booking somewhere in London for two friends to have some exploring time on booking.com Found what sounded like a really nice place, so booked it. Then read more of the reviews only to find one review saying about it not being two bedrooms! I messaged the owner and clarified this, and it turns out booking.com described their property wrongly. I thought it was down to the owner of the accommodation to describe their own property. Can't they fix the listing? if it's a flaw in the booking.com site then it throws in to doubt how good booking.com actually is to book through! At least the property owner is being clear about this, so thumbs up to them.

Breakfast and shopping

Monday 23rd October Ventured out to Bridgend for a Toby breakfast, didn't have much, but Neil did go up for seconds, his plate was full the second time!, then aimed for Cardiff and to IKEA. Seemed to have walked for miles in there, then to M&S at Culverhouse Cross. Why are shops so brightly illuminates? it's not a foodball match, don't need to be flood lit you know, some don't enjoy the bright lights, you can count me in that number! All in all a break from the flat, plus I had Neil's take on the world en- route too.... and added plus, maybe. Got easily drained, as my sleep in the night was interrupted by the need to pee, it's my new diabetic tablets, before I was on them I only needed to get up once,.now's it's 3 or more, annoying, very annoying.  Talking of tablets, went to SA1 surgery to pick up prescription, only to discover the prescription has gone to my chemist in Winch Wen.  I've got an injection delivery due tomorrow, so need to wait in

Holiday: October 11th til 18th 2023

Holiday - October 11th - 18th, 2023 Austria, Slovenia and as it turns out a bit of Italy, so that also gets crossed off my European list. At date of typing this, Austria is one place I do want to revisit, along with Poland. Lienz is a beautiful city, with a vibrant café culture, ideal for relaxing having a drink and watching life just stroll by. Further down the road and over a mountain pass is Hermagor, with a few tree lined streets and lovely cafes with delectable cakes and drinks to wash them down with. After my visit to Lienz, admiring all its buildings, both historic and modern, went to Villach for a rather splendid Chinese buffet at a restaurant called 'The Wok', it was a great establishment, clean and bright with friendly staff and excellent service. Austria is clean, th e homes of residents are picturesque and each one is different, a joy to behold. This in most respects transfers to businesses, hotels and commercial. I've enjoyed my time in Austria, not got to grip

October 2023

October 2023   This is the month of my holiday to Austria & Slovenia! Wednesday 3rd October: Damn it, fibromyalgia strikes in the night again. My whole body is in agony, feeling extremely tingly and achy. Not even sure I can remember a warning sign of its impending visit yesterday 🥺 Not a way to be woken up in the night that's for sure. Think I may have forgotten my gabapentin though, so that could be why it's dropped by 😔 Thursday 5th October: Well, a sluggish day so far today, got Nero later (he always cheers me up big time, bless him) Doctor will be phoning later to discuss my diabetic readings of the last few days. Also today am waiting on Amazon delivery, and I think one other parcel too. My mind is going... I thought I had Amazon order coming today... guess who forgot to check out his order? never mind, will come tomorrow now. Had Nero today, he’s a fantastic dog, he looks after me, he’s like my shadow! Friday 6th October: Just gone 5am What the.... my lower back,

DVLA Fun & Games

Image
Damn the DVLA in Swansea dragging their feet over removing code 78 from my driving license. It's stressing me out and affecting, possibly, my holiday, affecting me getting a new Motability car AND me moving on in life in aiming to drive a coach as a job.  I've rediscovered my love of driving, and at.the moment the DVLA risk wrecking that for me. I discovered the code while at J&J Motors in Skewen while starting an application for my new Motability car. I got in touch with the DVLA that same hour, and was told an investigation would be started. It was a whole week before I discovered what had happened after I had phoned them. Now I know I messed up by ticking a wrong box. As soon as I discovered what I had done I tried to rectify the issue. I wrote a letter pointing out my mistake, putting that letter in an envelope along with my licence. I took it to the DVLA in Swansea myself and was pointed in the direction of a silver postbox by security. I dropped the letter in there.

Wednesday Tears

Not long got in from doing few things.  Been to chemist to pick up my meds, always friendly in there and all the staff know me by name. Been to Morrisons, as know my way around it more than any other shop. Friendly staff, had to ask for help twice, but always feel safe in there. Got home, put things away, poured a glass of Lucozade, sat down, did my bi-weekly injection, looked at the meds I just got from the chemist and burst out crying. Yes every bone in my body is aching and I feel drained, but the crying seems more mental than physical sided. My morning stats today were as follows: Blood sugar first thing 8.9 BP & Oxygen first thing 124 / 81 - 96
