In this one Valentine's Day and Storm Dennis is on his way to the UK
So, Saturday I had the first part of the Covid vaccine . I had the Oxford AstraZeneca one. Don't get me wrong, I am over joyed to have been called up for it, but the side effects since are not too good, but as people keep telling me, "it's a sign it is working", geee, thanks for that! Before I go any further I want to say a massive thank you to AstraZeneca and also the University of Oxford, and the Swansea Bay NHS health board for getting this out. During yesterday afternoon my arm started hurting and then I started feeling as if I had a head cold coming on. Later in the evening my mind got a bit foggy. Day two since first part of vaccine jab, I was woken at about 5am this morning. Feeling worse, , woke up in a pool of sweat, and somehow managed to squash my pillow up and out of its pillowcase in the night. The sweat I could have done without, it was horrible waking up to that, when all I wanted to do was stay in bed, waking up in sweat just made me have to get up s
So the people on the UK have had the vote, to 'remain' in or 'leave' the EU... the vote was a close one to leave, which has caused no end of problems. The pound has lost value, companies have decided to ditch the UK and its workers and shift to other countries, Scotland want to go it alone and Northern Ireland wants to reunite with Eire and leave the UK. David Cameron is to stand down (....no real loss there then!), Jeremy Corbyn won't stand down from Labour even though he cabinet is jumping ship. On Wednesday 31st March 2021, we lost a dear friend, Debra Bowring. I first met her at Wham! Radio in Blaenavon back in April 2004, and worked along side her during the month long trial station in May. I often heard stories of her past, where she would tell me of the television series and films she had worked on. She had worked in the entertainment industry for 58 years, starting in the cutting rooms as a film and sound editor at Movietonews in the 1950s. She worked on what was to become a cult classic of all time, 2001: A Space Odyssey. She also worked on The Killing Fields and A Room With a View. She got to work along side David Niven, Donald Sutherland, John Hurt and Lawrence Olivier, as well as film directors Roman Polanski and Stanley Kubrick. She also worked on some great television series, including The Sweeney, Special Branch and Monkey. After the trial radio broadcast, I continued to work along side her at Nevill Hall Sound in Abergavenny. She taught me so much that I have co
