A new month.... How did that happen? October here we go then; holiday to Austria month - how will tge new month start? Who knows? Let's see shall we? 1st : Not feeling too good this morning, very achy and feeling sick with it, left arm feels like a dead weight - hope that eases!. Eye department from hospital phoned, said I had appointment for 22nd October - can't make that so had to tell them I couldn't. 2nd : Feeling very sick and a bit gassy, very achy too. Hips and lower back are in agony, and my left knee just went very weak on attempting to get out of bed... Not a good start to the day... and a slow one at that too. Update - as the day went on started feeling more and more down. Found out this afternoon Juliet's brother had passed away on 30th September. 3rd : Feeling very down and headachy. Must get out of bed and sorted, got my flu jab this morning at 9:20am at SA1 surgery. On trying to get out of bed, knee is weak, I really must keep one walking stic...

This blog proves someone with disabilities CAN travel and navigate stressful situations and places with assistance. A holiday for me takes a lot of planning. Due to disabilities both mentally with anxiety, physically with mobility issues due to Ankylosyn Spondylitis and the constant pain, I have to plan everything to the last detail. From getting to the airport, getting through the airport and on to the plane, then at the other end getting off the plane theough the air port to the hire car. As you know, I always print off things such as directions and other inportant info. So just over two months since I decided it's high time I visited Bill and Kelvin out in Austria, there is just over 24 hours to go. Setting off Wednesday at about 2am, it is currently 8:35pm as I type this on Monday evening. Holiday - October 11th - 18th, 2023 Austria, Slovenia and as it turns out a bit of Italy, so that also gets crossed off my European list. At date of typing this, Austria is one place I do want to revisit, along with Poland. Lienz is a beautiful city, with a vibrant café culture, ideal for relaxing having a drink and watching life just stroll by. Further down the road and over a mountain pass is Hermagor, with a few tree lined streets and lovely cafes with delectable cakes and drinks to wash them down with. After my visit to Lienz, admiring all its buildings, both historic and modern, went to Villach for a rather splendid Chinese buffet at a restaurant called 'The Wok', it was a great establishment, clean and bright with friendly staff and excellent service. Austria is clean, th e homes of residents are picturesque and each one is different, a joy to behold. This in most respects transfers to businesses, hotels and commercial. October 2023   This is the month of my holiday to Austria & Slovenia! Wednesday 3rd October: Damn it, fibromyalgia strikes in the night again. My whole body is in agony, feeling extremely tingly and achy. Not even sure I can remember a warning sign of its impending visit yesterday 🥺 Not a way to be woken up in the night that's for sure.
