Blog Entry: Tuesday 12 th July 2022 Yesterday I went to Singleton Hospital to have my bloods done, I have got a doctor’s appointment on the 21 st to see the Diabetic Nurse, will find out the results of those then. Been to dentist today, had three fillings. No other planned dental work to be done right now.   Blog Entry: Saturday 16 th July 2022 Been dropping things a lot the last few days, not really too sure why. Messiest mess was pasta and sauce with cheese on top…. what a mess, not sure how but it ended up all over my landline phone, the side of the sofa, the phones USB charging cable and even found a bit of pasta in a pot plant! It was lucky that I had a friend’s two dogs here this weekend to look after (they looked after me, more than me look after them!), they are really good at cleaning up dropped food!

Last 4 Days - 10th June 2022

Blog Entry: Friday 10h June 2022 Last 4 Days 7th June: Morning all, a bit achy again this morning, think I slept on my right side as my right arm feels like a weight, my neck is in agony too.  Later in the day: Not feeling too good, feeling a bit sick thanks to a terrible pain flare up, it just crept up on me, a lay down I think for the now. 8th June: Last night's flare up started to subside finally, didn't sleep too well at all, pain is currently at a 6.5 out of 10, last night it was around 8. 10th June: As the 2nd test starts today in the cricket, I am feeling very run down, totally exhausted. My get up and go has left me feeling like a drained empty thing. Apart from that, not too bad this morning. Very high on the pollen today, a mix of grass and nettle mostly, eyes are streaming already and throat is tickly. In the afternoon: I went for a lay down as my neck and right shoulder was really hurting, sometimes just going to lay on the bed helps, that and my tablets.  I m

Phil's Video Blog 211 - Dog Sitting

Phil's Video Blog 211 - Dog Sitting https://youtu.be/oaNB25qmxsE Yesterday I went to dog sit a well behaved boy called Nero. I took him for a short walk (for me, when I say walk, for me it's a creaky clicking rickety crawl propped up with my walking stick) Nero was great on the lead, didn't pull one bit, and seemed to sense that it was going to rain, he turned round and walked us back, every few moments looking back at me to see if I was ok!, such a good boy! Dogs in high heat

Image
A friend of mine posted this on her Facebook page yesterday after seeing a chap walking his dog in the heat of the day on a beach in Swansea. Just a reminder, PLEASE DO NOT walk your dog in the heat of the day, the ground, be it pavement or sand, can be extremely hot and can burn the paws of your dog.  It can take as little as 15 minutes for a dog to die of heat stroke.  Dogs do not have sweat glands, so the only way to regulate their body temperature is to be in the cool, and panting. Tarmac radiates heat as quickly as it absorbs it. For example, if it’s 20° air temperature, then the tarmac can be 35°.  Too hot for a human to walk on, so too hot for a dog to walk on.  This will cause blistering and burns to their paws. Meaning expensive vet bills, and not to mention excruciating pain for the dog. In my mind anyone who walks their dogs in this heat has no right to own a dog as it is obvious they do not care for it in the least. If you see anyone with a dog out walking have
