The Post Christmas Lergy

Image
The Post Christmas Lergy Since Christmas I have been feeling very down with a nasty cough that won't quit. Being diabetic, I keep a check on my blood sugar. I can see the date when the lergy finally broke, just by looking at my blood sugar readings Thursday 11th   11.8 / 12.1 Friday 12th 13.1 / 12.8 Saturday 13th 12.9 / 10.1 / 9.9 ( started new diabetic meds here ) Sunday 14th 10.8 / 9.8 / 9.9 Monday 15th 9.3 / 9.8 / 9.9 Tuesday 16th 8.2 / 7.8  Wednesday 17th 6.4 / 10.8 / 6.8 Thursday 18th 6.3 I think the infection broke around the 15th January. While I do still have the cough, it is not as bad as it was!

Blog Entry: Saturday 23 rd July 2022 Had a doctor’s appointment on Thursday just gone, well actually it was with the diabetic nurse, I’ve lost weight, 5kg, so happy with that. As you know I suffer with brain fog and tend to forget taking some tablets during the day, so have been put on to time release Metformin instead of the normal one. This should help my diabetic control.   I found out today that a very dear friend of mine, Angela Byrne, has passed away. I volunteered with her at Dragon Bands, a youth project she established. It was a community project for the youth of Torfaen. I really enjoyed helping out there, gave me a purpose in life at a time when I needed to keep busy.   After my Mum passed away, Angela was there for me when I needed to talk to someone, she was like a mum to so many of the youth in the area. Angela had her own family, and I felt like an extension of it. I was planning on meeting up with her just as Covid hit. Covid really has a lot to answer for.

25th May 2022 6:50am -  Up early.... Ok, ok, I'm just awake, still under the duvet here. Got to get up though as I have got a hospital appointment this morning.  It is just a bit wet outside this morning. Let you know how I get on later (once i can see what I am typing!, it's an eye appointment) 9:45am - Just got to the hospital, corridor 7 here I come.... phone going on flight mode 1:50pm - Been home from the hospital since 11am, but only now seeing what I can type! So, had the eye appointment, actually saw the one that would be doing the op, the main consultant surgeon.  Now I know 'what they' will be doing. Removing the eye gel and the blood from the eye, then doing laser zapping to sort out the floaters at the back of the eye, and then put a new lense in for distance. The 'when they' is a long way off... September towards October, depending on the waiting list.  I just want it done, want to enjoy my life and the world again. 2:30pm - Feeling a tad depr

Thursday 14th April - Eye Issues

Thursday 14th April   I feel like staying in bed, but must try to get up. I am in agony with my shoulders and lower back and am a bit pissed off. The eye specialist's secretary phoned yesterday after I sent an email. I'm still down to be seen, but they have a slight backlog. Apparently when they operate on my bad eye is down to the health of the good eye.... Bloomin' stupid if you ask me. I again pointed out that it is affecting what I can do, and my enjoyment of life. I want to get out there and go for long drives and walks in nature and visit new places, but can't enjoy anything. I'm so fed up, I just want it done so I can enjoy my life again. I don't want to be living life with my left eye all a blur. It's really getting to me and dragging me down UPDATE - Monday 25th April: After an eye test and field vision test for the DVLA carried out at Specsavers in Swansea, have been cleared to keep driving and had my driving licence renewed! (due to health
